  1. Fixture merchandising basics

    • Maintain the product to a clean status. Clean product will present a high quality status. The jewelry store concept.

    • Face Off the product. This is a term describing the pulling of the product on a shelf or peg hook to the front. Facing off the product give the store a full look and eliminates shadows makes it easier to see the packaging.

    • The product that you would like to sell over similar products should be an eye level and other products on bottom shelves. For example the eye level products should be the high profit items.

    • Signs should be used. Signs give the customer the price, product information and bring attention to the product.

    • Determine your high visibility fixtures. They are commonly in high traffic patterns. The high visibility areas are where your impulse and high profit and new product should be showcased.

    • Display product on hooks verses on a shelf when possible. The hook presentation will out sell a product on the shelf every time.

    • Scanner hooks have a space for the price and description of the product on the hook. If you are planning of scanning products in the future for your cash register change your hooks to this style. The scanner hook allows you to put the product price on the hook and not the product. This will help maintain the store inventory retail pricing. The computer will have the correct price and you only have to change one price label. The label on the hook, not the labels on the entire inventory.
